Reports to - Talbot County Department of Social Services
Division - Child Welfare
Department - Child Protective Services
Classification - Grant-funded position; continuation depends upon grant refunding
Shift - Full Time - 35 hours weekly

The Talbot County Department of Social Services, in conjunction with the Tri-County Council of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, is searching for an individual to fill a full-time, grant funded position as a Family Advocate. This position is located at the Department of Social Services in Easton, MD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
* Serves as primary contact person between the Child Advocacy Center team and the victim's family; provides follow up and communication to the victim's family between initial investigation and beginning of legal proceedings.

* Performs crisis intervention, facilitates support groups, provides medical advocacy, some assistance in legal matters (i.e. protective orders, case updates, court appointment or court orientation)

Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree preferably in Social Work. Degree in Psychology or other human service-related fields may be considered.

* Previous experience in child/family case management experience required.

The Wicomico County Department of Social Services, in conjunction with the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, is searching for an individual to fill a full-time, grant-funded position as a Family Advocate. This position is located at the Department of Social Services in Salisbury, MD.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*  Serves as primary contact person between the Child Advocacy Center team and the victim's family. Provides follow up and communication the victim's family between initial investigation and beginning of legal proceedings.

* Performs crisis intervention, facilitates support groups, provides medical advocacy, some assistance in legal matters (e.g. protective orders, case updates, court accompaniment or court orientation programming).

* Delivers community presentations and client/community education.

* Conducts team facilitation, participates in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings

Requirements:
* Master's degree in a human services field (Social work degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.

* Previous experience in child welfare services, preferred

*  Understanding knowledge of the workings of local, state and/or federal government
*  Knowledge of professional planning functions
*  Experience in administrative & project planning
*  Possess organizational administrative, budgeting, and financial management skills
*  Directly supervise the LSWA Director, Transit Director, Administrative Services Director and the Executive Coordinator
*  Promote the region to support & expand economic development opportunities
*  Represent the region at local, state and national meetings & conferences
*  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with private, non-profit, and public sector officials

Requirements and skills
*  Supervisory skills
*  Prefer experience in working with a Board of Directors of a non-profit organization
*  Prefer experience in working with government entities
*  Employment contingent on satisfactory results of a criminal background check
*  Able to manage priorities and meet deadlines
*  Good public speaking and writing skills
*  Able to read, analyze & interpret government regulations, financial reports and legal documents
*  Bachelors degree in related field or 5 years of government/non-profit work experience

Bus Operators - Fixed Route Currently Open - Full Time & Part Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely operates assigned vehicle to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule
  • Picks up and drops off passengers to scheduled medical appointments.
  • Schedule will include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays, varying shifts & routes

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a current CDL B Driver’s Permit with air brakes & passenger endorsement
  • Valid DOT physical
  • Acceptable current driving record
  • Physically able to load/unload and secure wheelchair customers
  • Employment contingent on satisfactory results of mandatory DOT drug screening and background check
