Lower Shore Workforce Alliance Deputy Director
Overview: The Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland is seeking a Deputy Director for it's workforce division. A division of Tri-County Council, the Lower Shore Workforce Alliance (LSWA) provides Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth Programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. LSWA serves the 3 lower counties of Maryland's Eastern Shore: Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester. The primary role of the Deputy Workforce Director is to provide support to the Workforce Director in all aspects of program implementation.

Supervision: supervise LSWA's team members; approve time sheets & leave requests; take disciplinary action as necessary; oversee work assignments; other areas as required.
Program Planning: assist the director in planning & operational matters
Budget Oversight: make recommendations to director during budget planning; monitor financial expenditures for adherence to regulations & the approved budget.
Policy Oversight: assess all policies provided by Federal & State offices for compliance; effectively communicate policy requirements to staff; maintain contact with state stakeholders regarding compliance requirements; prepare & participate in internal & external program audits; write internal policy for presentation to the Workforce Development Board for approval.
Data Analysis: gather & interpret data as it relates to established performance measures and goals; monitor case management for positive outcomes
Program Innovation: measure the flow of clients through programs; anticipate & identify potential problem areas; recommend program design changes for more effective delivery of services
Relationship Building: maintain LSWA's social media accounts; attend meetings with partners, stakeholders, community members, etc., representing LSWA; identify ways in which LSWA can work with stakeholders to meet the needs of the community as well as the goals of LSWA

Communication Skills: ability to communicate effectively; clear speaking, use of proper grammar, spelling and note writing; courteous demeanor
Office Skills: experience working in a professional office setting; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office
Transportation: must have transportation to attend meeting locations throughout the tri-county area

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree; two years of documented experience in a human service or government position may be substituted
Supervisory Experience: minimum 2 years of supervisory & personnel management experience
Eligibility Determination: prior experience determining program eligibility is strongly preferred

Bus Operators - Fixed Route Currently Open - Full Time & Part Time
  • Safely operates assigned vehicle to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule
  • Picks up and drops off passengers to scheduled medical appointments.
  • Schedule will include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays, varying shifts & routes



  • Minimum of a current CDL B Driver’s Permit with air brakes & passenger endorsement
  • Valid DOT physical
  • Acceptable current driving record
  • Physically able to load/unload and secure wheelchair customers
  • Employment contingent on satisfactory results of mandatory DOT drug screening and background check
